Amar Chemistry Pvt. Ltd. is a CRO/CDMO that provides integrated chemistry services to the biotech, pharmaceutical and chemistry-based industry sectors. Main service areas include multistep process development for organic synthesis based on flow chemistry, high-pressure reactions and other specialized techniques. The company’s goal is to maximize the production of organic molecules while keeping in mind the economics, safety and environmental aspects of production without sacrificing the quality of materials. Amar Chemistry has the capability to design novel synthetic routes – along with the appropriate equipment design – and to scale up from pilot batches all the way to manufacturing scale.

In addition to its process development services, Amar Chemistry provides medicinal chemistry related services and custom synthesis.

Amar Chemistry is located Kanjurmarg, a suburb of Mumbai, India. The facility is surrounded by premier institutes like the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (ITT), The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai, The University of Mumbai, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai (TIFR), and other leading research organizations.

Amar Chemistry Pvt. Ltd. closely collaborates with NJ Bio located in North Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. Both companies are staffed with highly experienced PhD-level chemists and occupy state-of-the-art facilities, furnished with all equipment and instrumentation required to perform synthetic chemistry from the mg- to kg-scale; both in batch and in flow modus. Together, NJ Bio and Amar Chemistry offer a highly advantageous Blended FTE Model, in which part of the work is being performed in India and part of the work is being performed in the USA. Using this model, we are able to provide full protection of your intellectual property, as the sensitive parts of work are controlled and conducted in the USA, together with a highly competitive pricing. Our blended FTE model will thus address your challenge of obtaining outsourced services at a reasonable price while also ensuring complete intellectual property protection.

Amar Chemistry was founded and is led jointly by Dr. Naresh Jain and Mr. Vishal Shah. Dr. Jain is an expert in synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry and Mr. Shah has a strong background and ample experience in the design and manufacture of high-pressure reactors as well as of flow and microreactors.

Our Team

NareshKumar Jain, PhD (Co-founder Amar Chemistry Pvt Ltd)

Dr. Jain is the founder and CEO of NJ Bio and co-founder of Amar Chemistry Pvt. Ltd. He is also a member of Robin Hood Ventures, a leading Mid-Atlantic investment group. Prior to founding NJ Bio in 2018, Dr. Jain served as Global Head of Chemistry and Senior Vice-President of ADC Biomanufacturing at Abzena. In 2009, Dr. Jain founded the chemistry-based CRO The Chemistry Research Solution LLC (TCRS) and served for six years as Managing Director of the company until its acquisition by Abzena in late 2015. Dr. Jain has more than ten years of medicinal chemistry experience at Johnson and Johnson where he worked on advancing new drug molecules from early lead to lead optimization and clinical trials. He has co-authored more than 60 publications, patents, and chapters in medicinal/synthetic chemistry books. Among his notable achievements are the total syntheses of complex natural products including the antibiotics vancomycin and rutamycin. Dr. Jain received his Ph.D. from Boston University with Prof. James Panek and was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California with Prof. K.C. Nicolaou. Dr. Jain got extensive leadership training through the Advanced Management Program of The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.

Vishal N. Shah, B.E. (Co-founder and Managing Director of Amar Chemistry Pvt Ltd)

Vishal Shah completed his B.E. degree in mechanical engineering from VJTI, Mumbai in 1997. Mr. Shah has been the Director of Amar Equipments Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, for the last 20 years. He has been the main driving force for multifold growth of Amar Equipments for the past two decades. Mr. Shah has substantially contributed to the concept, design development, production and marketing of highly specialized import substitute equipment like high pressure autoclaves, pilot plants, magnetic couplings, packed bed reactors, continuous flow reactors, heating cooling circulators and Lab Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer (ANFD). He has been able to offer turnkey systems using high pressure autoclaves for different applications like hydrogenation, polymerization, alkoxylation, supercritical fluid extraction, corrosion and testing. for various specialty chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, dyes and intermediates etc. industries apart from serving leading governmental chemical research institutes and chemical engineering colleges. The flow reactors developed at Amar Equipments in collaboration with NCL, Pune, have a huge market potential as they can replace the batch process for many reactions / applications for better product quality, safety and production.
